Everything almost perfect apart from mattress too soft and with being a single dare not move in case of falling out of bed lol. Brilliant staff and food.

Rooms are very clean, tea, coffee and chocolate in rooms. Table service for breakfast with lots of choice. Staff exceedingly helpful. Typical seaside town hotel, a short walk to town 10 mins. Bar at the hotel, car park on first come first served basis but we got a space. Enjoyable stay.

Great accommodation. Really good restaurant. Staff are great. Does feel old-fashioned, but I think that is what they are trying for

Lovely old style hotel, friendly staff, superb breakfast offering, rooms well kept and bathroom and toilet area spotlessly clean. Ideal location for us a 10 min walk from the centre but we were doing sections of the Cleveland way so it was ideal for us. The car park was a bonus. Brilliant hotel.

A perfect place to stay. We had a call the night before to make sure everything was ok and if there was anything we would need for our stay. Thought that was a really nice touch. The staff are so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Food was really nice and the staff brought everything to you. I would recommend this hotel. And will definitely be booking again.

Saxondale is a lovely hotel situated in whitby near to town , harbour and sea front . Lovely ,clean spacious rooms with unsuite bath shower and wc . Tea and coffee facilities in room including hot choc ,biscuits and bottled water . The breakfast was included and top class with silver service waitresses and a menu with ample choice of cereals , fruit, juices ,yogurts and cooked breakfasts which were delicious 😋. Stayed at saxonville Hotel in a twin room with a friend, could not recommend this hotel enough! All the staff were very professional, and friendly. Every part of the hotel we saw was immaculately clean and maintained to very high standard. The decor may not be to everyone's taste but I found it fit well with the hotel and added to its character. We were made to feel at home and nothing was too much trouble, as I said the staff are amazing, especially lee and the lady running the dining room, (sorry i cant remember her name) and the food was delicious, hot and very fresh. Thank you for an enjoyable stay whilst exploring the beautiful Whitby.

Lovely hotel. Booked through Booking .com. Our room was lovely. The Heating was on, but the heat hit us when we first went in. Had to turn the radiator off and open the window. Too hot for a small room. Our room was lovely and clean. The bathroom also great. Toiletries and shower caps etc supplied. There was also a hairdryer and kettle with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Breakfast was great. Lovely table service, very friendly staff couldn't do enough to help. I had porridge and a vegetarian breakfast, my husband had the full English. There was also toast, croissants, choice of cereals, orange juice and more..a great breakfast menu. Beware of the mock silver teapots. The handles are metal and are scalding hot! About a 15 minute walk into town. We went out via the road by the sea and through the whale bone arch and down the steps. The only problems we had were men in the room next door were very loud from 10.30- midnight. Talking very loud and we could hear them peeing in their bathroom. Also our bed could do with a new mattress. The springs kept going boing every time I turned over. Would we stay again..no! Just because of the thin walls and noise from neighbouring room and hearing them in the bathroom.

A quiet, cosy and charming traditional hotel, next to the beach and 10 minutes walk to Whitby town centre. Very comfy bed, clean bathroom including a bath which is a welcome bonus after a long day of walking! Tastefully decorated luxurious dining room, with an extensive breakfast menu, waitress service and friendly, attentive staff. With its own car park conveniently across the road, we would highly recommend this hotel!

Booked at short notice and so glad we did. This hotel is absolutely brilliant, spotlessly clean, super friendly and efficient staff, thank you Allisonx, and the food is superb! My wife dosen't normally eat a full breakfast but the vegatarian breakfast and the full Yorkshire breakfast were delicious, the evening meals were amazing. We only stayed for two nights but left wishing we had stayed for more, so wonderful. Thank you to all the staff xx

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are all friendly, polite and professional. It's a traditional looking hotel but none of the fixtures or fittings are worn out or damaged. It's very clean and lovley. Waitrose/ waitress service at breakfast and meal times of you wanted. The rooms are beautifully clean. I'm unsure if there is a lift, you would need to double check if that is relevant to you. I will return again. There is a small car park on a first come first serve basis. Partly laid with hardcore and partly with grass (hit and miss how muddy the grass is depending when you go). Street parking directly outside is 3 hours on a disc zone. the seafront has parking about 2 streets away, part of the year it is pay and display and the other part of the year it is free.

Everyone at this hotel is wonderful to speak with. From the receptionist to the servers to the cleaners. I was an idiot and left my rather expensive jacket behind after checking out on the goth weekend. They called me within the hour and arranged to have it posted back, none of the money in the wallet missing. Couldn't recommend more. I've stayed here multiple times before and I will be eager to stay again. Every stay has been 5 star across the board.

Not a 5star, be prepared to hike a suitcase up lots of stairs unless you are lucky to be on the lower floor, we weren’t. Not worth the price we paid. Room was clean, small, outdated bathroom, breakfast and service was excellent, bar expensive. Hotel needs updating in areas for sure. Free parking if you can get a spot.
